CNY - Chinatown

Warning: Do not go to Chinatown during pre-CNY period.

We thought meeting up on a Saturday evening was a good idea. So we had our dinner at Maxwell Mkt. That's a good place for dinner, as food is good there. But unexpectedly, we ended up in squeezing through maddening crowds of people in Chinatown due to the upcoming CNY celebration.

At one junction, a man was talking to his other half, "You know all these people standing in the middle of the road... I think I saw them at the MRT station just now. They were also standing in the middle like that, waiting for people. As if there's not enough people trying to squeeze through this narrow road, yet they still choose to stand in the middle."

Another old lady pushing her really old mother or grandmother on the wheelchair, "Excuse me! Excuse me! Excuse me!" I dunno if the person on the wheelchair really enjoyed herself being used as a "road-opener".

One little girl went "Papa, Papa, Papa..." all the way just to my right. Just up ahead, one little boy went "I want this. I want this." His father ignored him altogether. There's no way for him to stop and buy anyway. A good way to bring little children to shop. They will NEVER like shopping anymore. Food for thought.

In conclusion, that one and only experience is enough. Period.
