Gowns review

Went for gown testing not long ago. Confirmed my taiwan trip end of year. So excited to be taking my wedding photos overseas.

Didn't know that gown testing could be so tiring. And male opinions are really a bore. "Oh, this is nice!" "Oh, that is nice too!" Erm... No wonder there's this lyrics "I love you best when you say nothing at all". Sigh... As good as not saying anything. Sinister PICs, want to go gown testing with me next time? *grinz*

I tried a variety of gowns. Here's my own review for myself with some comments from the consultant.

Firstly, review the top aspect of the gown:
  • Bustier gowns (those tube types, focus on bust area): I actually look good despite my fat arms and short height. Haa... But there're better stuff.
  • Halter gowns (low V-neck): No good on me at all! Surprising, coz me usually wear lots of V-neck for my day-to-day wear. Realise is becoz of long skirts, then bodice looks very short in wedding gown. So this style is out.
  • Ball gowns (very princess-like with the can-can underneath skirt): Best choice for me! Simple gowns don't look good on me. So therefore now glad that the bf took up MTM package for me. Can get to wear newly designed gown with complicated lace and embroidery.

Secondly, the skirt aspect of the gown:

  • Simple fluffy skirt: Too simple. Makes me look short. Enhances my 'shortness' in comparison to the bf, even if there are pretty embroidery at the bottom of the skirt. I think too much emphasis at the bottom of the gown will let others take more notice of our height difference.
  • Ruffles: Simple skirt with simple designs but takes away the 'short look'. Amazing.
  • Asymmetrical ruffles: Look so sweet! Haa... I quite like that look. Btw I look awful in all-white gowns, so pink, ivory or gold would be my choice! Daring choice? Hee...

In summary, my dream gown would be like this: bustier top, closer to ball gown type, short bodice, skirt with ruffles (symmetrical or asymmetrical), no train behind for convenient walking. Well, no pic yet coz not finalised yet of coz! That's why jio-ing my PICs to test with me again the next round.

Meanwhile, enjoy the pics below. Will be posting more about my wedding preparations. Hee...

Recently addicted to this website www.cct-fashion.com

Why? Go look at the clothes! So sweet and girlish. Many babydoll dresses and tops. Hee... So cute.

Actually I chanced upon the website and happened to share it with one of my colleagues one day. And she was immediately hooked onto it. So she started jio-ing a couple of girls in the office to order the minimum no. of pieces and give it a go. Seriously, it's actually quite cheap coz the clothes are sold at wholesaler's price. The only problem is that each piece of clothing must fulfill a minimum purchase of 2 pcs / design, so we try to find those with 2 colours lor.

Haa... The colleague has already paid for our first purchases. Can't wait to receive the first shipment and try out the clothes. Reviews pending. :)

The kanchiong ROM registration

Very long never blog liaoz... Super busy at work. Super tired too. Especially on Mon, which was a hectic day. Had a long day at work, and rushed back home to wait for 0000 hrs to register online on ROM website. After dinner, TV was boring. Showing some cranky people trying their best to 'act funny'. How on earth can one act funny? Wierd idea there from the producers. Not interested in the 9pm show, so ended up surfing the net for anything that comes to my mind. Then I heard the familiar news from the living room, which means it's finally 2200 hrs. Arrgghh... another 2 hrs of wait. Called bf to get ready the info. Prepared info all in soft copy, later we're all ready to just cut and paste, and finish within 10 min to get a place through the system. Gee... Want to get married also so troublesome. Seems like NUS students trying to bid for modules like that. Kiasu-ism continues after school life. Haa... 1 hr passed again, finally 2300. I'm getting sleepy, need to work the next day, so went to take a long, warm shower. Bf unable to contact me and panicked. Haa... He must be thinking, "Oei... Don't back out on me on the eleventh hour!" Haa... Back out on the eleventh hour at eleven o'clock sounds real... evil to me. Muahahahaha... By the time I got out of the shower, it was nicely 2340 hrs and we communicated thru messenger. He stayed at his house and I stayed at my place, so that in case whoever's comp's not working, well things get going right. Hee... How well thought out by me - the gf. At 0000 hrs, upon countless refreshing of the website, the dates finally changed to what we wanted: 22 Nov 2006! So I said, "Haa... luckily you got cable at home. Settle it now." Then he gave me a big surprise. He didn't download that soft copy onto his comp yet! So it was one big mess all over again. Frantic search for that soft copy of information on my comp, frantic reading of emails by the bf, loacting the files, switching off the firewall so as to send a file through messenger, opening the file, cut and paste all the information and what?! System rejects this info that info, but we copied info from our IC! Try and try and refresh and refresh, cut and paste and finally he's at the last page. Payment. Then guess what? "Where's the master card?" Shucks! Another frantic search before the numbers were keyed in and registration completed and confirmed. Almost immediately, email received by both of us. Super 'efficient' system and super kiasu system. Almost had a heart attack that night. Time for a good healing.
